To help build community and celebrate your child’s birthday, each student will have a turn at being our “Star”. On your child’s birthday there will be a number of activities to celebrate our “Star”. It is also a way for students in our class to learn more about each other. Below is a list of events. Please help your child be prepared. This helps avoid hurt feelings when things are forgotten at home.
*Write a silly or serious poem about your child, tell us some interesting things we may not know about your child.
*Send silly or special pictures with a letter describing the pictures, or write a short story with your child as the main character.
Finally, if your child has a summer birthday, we can celebrate their half birthday or you can choose any day in May/June that is convenient for you. Please email or send me a note letting me know what works for you. Thanks you for your help in celebrating our “Stars”.
- Share special items or photos that fit into the It’s My Birthday bag. The bag will be brought home a few days before your child’s birthday.
- Please send a special letter in a sealed envelope to school with your child. I will read the letter to the class during the day. The content of the letter is up to you, but here are some possible ideas from previous years:
